Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect

Sessions are 50 minutes in duration and are available by appointment only. Appointment times are Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 4pm. I work across two locations- Parramatta and Riverstone.

Your initial consultation is designed to ensure that subsequent sessions are relevant and helpful to you. During your first appointment we will discuss your current needs and significant family, mental health and social history.  This information will inform our treatment and will be relevant to therapy. We will also discuss your goals and expectations of treatment.

Fees

Consultation fees are $230 per 50-minute session. Fees are payable on the day of your appointment.

Referrals and Rebates

A referral is not required to make an appointment, however, a referral is required in order to claim a rebate.

A Mental Health Care Plan: Under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative you are entitled to a medicare rebate of $137.05 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. This scheme is for people with a diagnosed Mental Health condition and involves an extended consultation with your GP to prepare a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). You will need to bring your referral letter and a copy of the Mental Health Care Plan in order to access a rebate. More information on this initiative can be found here: www.health.gov.au/mentalhealth-betteraccess

Private Health Funds: Your eligibility for a rebate through your health fund will depend on your level of cover for Allied Health treatment. Please contact your health fund directly to determine whether you are entitled to a rebate.

Workers Compensation

I have extensive experience as a SIRA accredited psychologist and can support individuals with treatment under a workers' compensation claim following a physical or psychological workplace injury.

Cancellation Fees

A notice period of 24 hours is required for the cancellation of appointments. Appointments that are not cancelled with 24 hours notice or a failure to attend will incur the full 100% of the fee (ie. $230).  Further appointments cannot be scheduled until this fee is settled.

In the event that you need to reschedule, it would be appreciated if you provide as much notice as possible.

Please note that Medicare or health insurance rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees.

Parking

Parking is available in Parramatta Westfield Shopping Centre with the first 2 hours parking free. The rooms are located a short walk from Westfield. Free parking is available at Riversone.
